EVERYTHING THAT SHINES is the story of a very large horse with a particular name! It is the story of the beloved relationship between the big horse named Shekinah and Maddie, the little girl who loves him.
The story is set on a farm on Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is a magical tale of love and friendship, and where to look for that love "in everything that shines"...even after the one you love is gone.
Parents will be crying too when Shekinah dies of old age. But, will rejoice with their children when Maddie learns the "shining" lesson from her Grandfather. "Just as wise as a horse", says her Grandfather.
Author David Weale is a well known storyteller. This is his second book collaboration with illustrator, painter Dale McNevin. The True Meaning of Crumbfest won the ACBrimer Award for Children's fiction.
